Bioinformatics - Exon Map

There are many applications involving genomic data that display the layout of genes and sequences relative to each other or to a reference genome. These applications have been a major test case for Ortho and the library should prove to be very useful in this field.

Examples of these include the display of sequence database search results, conserved domains in aligned sets of sequences and the organization of exons in gene transcripts. This example shows the exon layout in different transcripts of the BRCA1 gene, in relation to part of the Human Genome. The data is taken from the Ensembl Human ExonView site.
