The Craic INTERNET SCAM ARCHIVE is a resource for people involved in combatting the problems of Internet fraud and identity theft.

In its initial form, the archive contains the unsolicited email messages that direct victims to fake web sites of banks or other targets.

The archive is being maintained by Craic Computing for its own research and as a public service to the computer security community. You are free to use the information contained in the archive as you see fit, but be sure to read the DISCLAIMER before doing so.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER

  • All these examples were received as unsolicited emails from unknown sources.
  • Information that might identify the recipient has been removed, as far as is possible.
  • They have all been used as part of identity theft scams and you should not enter any personal information into any web page contained in this archive.
  • Web sites that are directly involved in scams of this sort are typically very short lived. They are unlikely to be operational if and when you visit them from any of the links contained in the archive. More than that, many of the IP addresses will have been reassigned to other sites. You should not assume anything about the current owner of a site based on its association with a scam at some point in the past.
  • All trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
  • If you have a problem with any of the examples presented here please contact us at forensics@craic.com.
  • Identity theft is a crime. Do not even think about using any of these examples in creating a scam of your own.

FUTURE PLANS

We hope to significantly expand the number of examples in the archive, as well as include additional information about each scam. This may include mirror copies of the fake bank web sites that are involved in the scam, information on the location and configuration of the web sites and the clustering of emails and web pages so as to reveal related scams.
